What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter in HitchWell is stored locally on your device: work days, rates, per diem, expenses, mileage, certifications, client and project details, business details, and receipt photos. There is no HitchWell server. We cannot see, access, or recover your data.
Your device’s own iCloud backup may include the app’s data, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Backup files you export from the app go wherever you choose to save or send them, and that destination is under your control.
What we collect
Nothing, in the ordinary sense. HitchWell contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no third-party tracking. We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or usage data.
Purchases
If you buy HitchWell Pro, the payment is processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. To validate and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives purchase records tied to an anonymous, randomly generated identifier, not your name, email, or Apple ID. This data is used only to unlock the feature you paid for and to restore it on a new device. See the RevenueCat privacy policy for their handling details.
Camera and photo access
If you attach receipt photos, the app asks for camera or photo library permission. Photos you attach are stored inside the app on your device and are embedded only in the report and invoice PDFs you export. They are not uploaded anywhere by the app.
Notifications
Certification expiry alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification data leaves your phone.
What we share or sell
Nothing. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. There is nothing to sell; we do not have your data.
Data retention and deletion
You control retention entirely. Deleting an entry removes it. Settings > Backup & Data > Clear All Data removes everything the app stores on the device, and deleting the app removes its data container. Because there is no server, there is nothing further to request deletion of, apart from purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies.
Children
HitchWell is a work tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children; the app does not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change, for example if an optional cloud sync feature is added, this policy will be updated before that change ships, with the effective date above revised. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
